From on-pitch rivals to off-pitch pals? You better believe it!

Newcastle United's gentle giant, Dan Burn, has revealed he's finally buried the hatchet with Arsenal's own midfield maestro, Kai Havertz. And the location of this peace summit? You might find it a tad unexpected.

These two Premier League titans haven't exactly exchanged Christmas cards in the past. On the pitch, it's been more like World War III!

Remember that nasty clash back in March 2022? Havertz's elbow left Burn needing stitches after a head injury that looked like something out of a horror film. Ouch!

To add insult to literal injury, Havertz – then playing for Chelsea – rubbed salt in the wound by scoring a last-minute winner *and* somehow avoided a red card. Can you say "feud fuel?"

The bad blood didn't end there. Later that year, when Newcastle sought revenge, the two tangled again, adding another spicy chapter to their ongoing saga.

And who could forget Burn's swift intervention when Havertz went in late on Sean Longstaff? Seems like these two were destined to be enemies forever, right?

But hold your horses, folks! This story takes a surprising turn.

Burn, who recently returned from suspension, spilled the beans on his newfound friendship with Havertz. And get this: it all went down in Singapore!

Speaking to *FourFourTwo*, the Newcastle defender confessed, "He's actually, frustratingly enough, quite a nice guy. I had a drink with him, and he's actually sound." Who would have thought?!

During pre-season, when Newcastle and Arsenal found themselves both in Singapore, Burn seized the opportunity. "We had time where we could go and have a few drinks, and we saw some of the Arsenal lads," he explained.

Cue the peacemaking! "I just got chatting to him," Burn continued. "We both said to each other, 'That's just the way it is when we play; we've just got to be at that sort of level.'"

So, it seems the heat of the moment on the pitch doesn't necessarily translate to real-life animosity. Who knew?

While Burn's career is riding high with England squad selections under Thomas Tuchel, Havertz is facing a different battle.

The Arsenal midfielder, who made a £65 million switch from Chelsea in June 2023, is currently fighting to regain full fitness after undergoing knee surgery in August.

He’s been limited to a mere 30 minutes of game time since the season kicked off, and hasn't been seen on the pitch since that opening day win against Manchester United.

Here's hoping Havertz gets back on his feet soon. Maybe he and Burn can grab another drink to celebrate...off the pitch, of course!

Perhaps this unlikely friendship proves that even the fiercest rivals can find common ground – especially when there's a cold pint involved.
