The ink might finally be dry on Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's divorce, but the aftershocks are still rippling through Hollywood.
After a legal battle that felt longer than a "Magic Mike" marathon, details of their financial settlement are finally emerging.
Newly filed court documents reveal that both Dewan, 44, and Tatum, 45, will be splitting each other’s retirement benefits earned during their nearly nine-year marriage. Think of it as a silver lining in their silver years.
According to Page Six, the agreement, finalized on November 26th, involves a 50/50 split of retirement funds accrued under the Screen Actors Guild producers’ pension plan during their marriage.
But the road to financial peace wasn't exactly paved with dollar bills. Remember, Dewan filed for divorce way back in 2018.
The real sticking point? The box office bonanza that was "Magic Mike." Tatum launched the franchise while they were still husband and wife, and those dollar bills caused some serious drama.
Tatum's legal eagles previously accused Dewan of using "delay tactics" to drag out the divorce proceedings. Ouch!
Court documents obtained by Page Six quoted Tatum’s attorneys claiming he made “exhaustive efforts” to settle, including "countless settlement proposals" and "multiple mediations."
Dewan's camp fired back, accusing Tatum of trying to block the release of "Magic Mike" related documents that she was entitled to see. Accusations flew! "He is depriving Jenna of a fair and equal share," her lawyers insisted.
They alleged Tatum was stalling to "enjoy the unfair benefit of collecting the ‘Magic Mike’ proceeds without paying Jenna her fair share,"
Despite the legal squabbling, Tatum told Variety in September that he and Dewan were now "good."
“Jenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young,” Tatum confessed. “We tried to keep it together... but we knew it was…”
He also admitted the difficulty of splitting time with their now 12-year-old daughter, Everly. "It's really tough not to have your daughter half the time,” he said, tugging at heartstrings everywhere.
Custody of Everly seems to be settled, with both parents sharing joint legal and physical custody.
And if any future child support squabbles arise? They've agreed to handle it privately, meeting with a judge to iron things out.
So, where do things stand now? Both stars have moved on. Tatum is currently romancing model Inka Williams, 26.
Dewan, on the other hand, is engaged to actor Steve Kazee and they have two children: Callum, 5, and Rhiannon, 1.
Could this financial settlement finally put an end to the "Magic Mike" divorce saga? Only time will tell.
But for now, it seems both Channing and Jenna are ready to close this chapter and dance their way into a brighter, albeit separate, future.
