Oh, Mylanta! Just months after celebrating his victory over lymphoma, Dave Coulier, everyone’s favorite “Full House” uncle, has revealed he's facing a new battle: tongue cancer.

The 66-year-old actor, best known as Joey Gladstone, dropped the bombshell on Tuesday's "Today" show, calling the diagnosis "a shock to the system." We can only imagine!

But hold on, is this cancer related to his previous fight? Coulier clarified, "It’s totally unrelated to my non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This is a brand-new cancer." Talk about a double whammy.

So, how did this happen? According to Coulier, his doctors believe the cancer could stem from an HPV virus he contracted "up to 30 years ago." Apparently, the virus may have "activated and turned into a carcinoma." Who knew a decades-old virus could cause such trouble?

Despite the daunting diagnosis, Coulier remains optimistic. He says doctors have assured him that his tongue cancer is "very treatable" with a "90 percent curability rate." Fingers crossed!

The "Fuller House" star is already undergoing treatment, which he describes as "a whole different animal" compared to the chemotherapy he endured during his lymphoma battle last year.

"It doesn’t feel as aggressive, but there are still side effects," Coulier admitted. Cancer treatment is never a walk in the park, is it?

Remember, Coulier bravely revealed his stage 3 lymphoma diagnosis in November 2024, also on the "Today" show. Thankfully, he achieved remission and was declared cancer-free earlier this year.

In a twist of fate, Coulier received the incredible news of his remission on the very same day he became a grandfather! He shared this joyous moment with listeners of the “How Rude, Tanneritos!” podcast in April, gushing, "It was an amazing day."

But just six months later, the PET scan results brought the oropharyngeal tongue cancer diagnosis, all thanks to that pesky HPV lurking in the shadows.

Always the optimist, Coulier sees a silver lining in this challenging situation. "The silver lining here is that I had cancer, which helped me detect my other cancer," he said. "It seems crazy to be making that statement, but it’s true." Talk about making lemonade out of lemons!

However, Coulier acknowledged the emotional toll of this health battle. "It’s psychologically draining," he confessed, adding that it's also a significant burden on his wife, Melissa Bring.

"It’s also a big drain to my wife, Melissa [Bring], which is the biggest drain on me, seeing how this affects her," Coulier said of his 42-year-old wife, whom he married back in July 2014.

Despite the hardships, the "cautiously optimistic" comedian is determined to overcome this obstacle. "I'm going to get to the other side of this," he insisted.

And in true Dave Coulier fashion, he's using his platform to raise awareness about early detection. The self-proclaimed "poster boy for cancer" declared, "How the heck can I not take this moment to use my voice to say to people, 'Hey, early detection saved my life, and now early detection saved my life again.'"

He's urging everyone to get checked regularly. It's a message we can all get behind!

HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer is becoming increasingly common, often diagnosed years after the initial infection. Regular check-ups and awareness are key.

According to the CDC, HPV is a very common virus, and most people get it at some point in their lives. While often harmless, certain types can lead to cancer.

Coulier's candor about his health struggles is not only brave but also incredibly important. By sharing his story, he's reminding us all to prioritize our health and listen to our bodies.
